4.07 in 36:03.  Well that's a little under 9 minute miles so that's better than yesterday I guess.  I ran to gym and back.  I didn't plug in Garmin yet so I don't know the splits.  I do know my first 2 miles were faster though than the last 2.  I tried to concentrate on keeping them consistent around 8:30 so it will be interesting to see the splits when I get home from work tonight.

My legs were super stiff today and by the time they were warm I was at the gym.  So I lifted and did my things and then when I ran home the blasted legs were stiff again.

I'm doing the freedom festival 10k on saturday and I'm thinking maybe I should be tapering down a little this week but then again I don't know because really I'm training for Hobble Creek and this 10k is just to help me train.  To taper or not to taper???

just do an easy run or something on Friday. do you have your watch with you? I could tell you how to see your splits w/ out plugging it into the computer.

No I don't have it with me. Another thing I was going to ask is when I finished it said my lap pace was 9:17 but that can't be right because if that was my avg pace it would have taken me longer. Is lap pace the same as avg pace?

From Merri on Tue, Jun 30, 2009 at 12:46:31 from 207.88.76.69

nope not the same. lap pace is the pace of your last mile (lap). I have mine set to avg pace so it averages all of the miles out.

I'd taper down a bit.

I relate on the stiff legs thing. My right upper thigh has been stiff a lot the last week. No fun.

Right before you run your race Saturday. Eat a tablespoon of honey. You will have some energy for your race. I swear by it! :)

We (my entire brood of children, my husband, and I) are running the 5k!! Maybe we can cheer you in on the 10k. you will have to tell me what you will be wearing so I will know who to cheer for!

I will be pushing 2 kids in a stroller, wearing this dang cute new skirt I got (dark grey with orange compression shorts built in), an orange head band, and my Wasatch back shirt (white with orange writing on it). Do you like how I already have my outfit planned out? I am making my husband wear the same shirt and his dark grey shorts with the orange stripe so we will be matching dorks!!! Anyway, it should make us easy to spot!

ha ha Kelli, of course you have your outfit planned out, I've had mine for weeks :). I'll be in black shorties with white stripes down the side and a white bryce canyon half marathon short sleeve shirt. UNLESS, I can find a red tank top tonight because that's what I really want. I'll keep you posted. lol. And I love that you and you're husb are matching, it's the only way :)

I'm so excited to have someone to look for when I get there!

I actually just ran in that outfit this morning for the first time and decided it was a WINNER!
