I did 3.1 in a little under 26 minutes and then everthing slowed way down after that.  Made it to 4.5 in 39 minutes.  It's actually faster than I felt like I was running so that's good.  I knew I was going slow and it felt like 10 min miles toward the end. Last year i bought the little nike attachment for your ipod.  It tells you your pace, distance and how long you've been running.  The only problem is it's not very accurate.  Today it said I was running 6 min miles, ha ha I wish that with my whole heart but it's not true.  So I haven't used it in a long time but today I realized that it can atleast work as a timer.  Hopefullyl it's even accurate in how long it says I've been running.

But good news, I think I'm getting a garmin for my b-day which is in August.  But it will have to be an early bday pres, because I want it NOW!

No Chee-leaders today.  Just 5 year olds playing baseball in the middle of the track.  One about hit me in the head with a ball, yikes.

Average pace for 3.1= 8:39

Average pace for entire run= 8:55

Greedy greedy. LOL. I got mine for Christmas last year, but I wanted it on my birthday. http://burt-mccumber.fastrunningblog.com/blog-I-ran-regular-loop-this-morning-nbs/12-02-2008.html

A Garmin is at the top of the long list of things I want too. Someday.... good thing I live so close to Merri for now.

From Burt on Thu, Jun 25, 2009 at 12:29:41 from 68.76.197.194

Lyns - you are such a merri-mooch!

From Lyns on Thu, Jun 25, 2009 at 12:35:22 from 75.162.104.51

No argument there!

From Merri on Thu, Jun 25, 2009 at 12:38:00 from 207.88.76.69

I love the moochers. It's the only way I can make and keep friends. :(

Leandra is famous for opening things early. Last year she opened her christmas presents in November and then she had to go back out shopping in december so she would have something to open on christmas. even then she opened all of her presents on christmas eve. Santa was not pleased.

Leandra!

From Merri on Thu, Jun 25, 2009 at 12:56:27 from 207.88.76.69

what can she say Burt she's the youngest...

From Leandra on Thu, Jun 25, 2009 at 12:58:13 from 207.224.204.11

ha ha lol. not true! It's not my fault that santa puts the presents under the tree during november. Stupid Santa should be smarter and not put them under the tree til C-eve.

It's actually mr. call's (merri, see how I used mr.call?:) ) fault. He can't keep a secret for the life of him. So the second he ordered the garmin ($20 bones off at costco.com! right on.) he tells me to come look at the computer to see what he just did. ha ha. Not to mentioned that he used my credit card with my money on it. So I figure I can open it when I want.

From Leandra on Thu, Jun 25, 2009 at 12:59:58 from 207.224.204.11

Lyns- the problem is I can't keep up with Merri! Or else I would mooch her garmin everyday. I have to mooch in other ways, like eat all her chips and fruit snacks any time I come over. She owes me atleast that for being fast.

From Merri on Thu, Jun 25, 2009 at 13:03:42 from 207.88.76.69

mr hackett (see how I used that lani) is way good at keeping secrets, I'm just really snoopy like burt.

From RAD on Thu, Jun 25, 2009 at 13:08:49 from 67.166.99.8

Nice run and congrats on the Garmin! I finally broke down and bought one in January, and I LOVE it! Costco is the best!

From Burt on Thu, Jun 25, 2009 at 13:31:34 from 68.76.197.194

Leandra - who is Mr. Call? I thought you were married to David Archuleta.

From Lyns on Thu, Jun 25, 2009 at 13:31:37 from 75.162.104.51

Yeah I know she's fast! The more I get to know Merri - the more I realize how much I'm probably holding her back, ha ha. She's runs with me on her "slow" days!

From Kelli on Thu, Jun 25, 2009 at 13:33:33 from 71.219.76.64

I say you get it when it arrives!! Birthday presents are overrated when you have to wait for them!

From Merri on Thu, Jun 25, 2009 at 13:38:35 from 207.88.76.69

No way Lynsey is just being nice :)

From Leandra on Thu, Jun 25, 2009 at 14:00:43 from 207.224.204.11

Burt-Mr. Call is his alias, it's so fun being married to a celeb. I guess you heard about his dad...

From Bec on Fri, Jun 26, 2009 at 12:22:35 from 67.177.35.60

I had the Nike band, and it was absolutely horrible. That thing made me so confused. 5 miles out and 3 miles in? I got the Garmin, and life couldn't be better.
