Done and Done!  I'm sore and really tired and i think I need to throw up. :) But it was a good race. More details to come later on after 7 peaks!

**********REPORT************

The race started a 1/2 hour late and that was bad.  It was so hot at the end, but atleast I had good company to hang out with before the race- Kellie, Josse, Sue, Julie, Michele, Lyns and a few other bloggers I didn't catch names!  So good to see all you girls! And Kellie- thank you for packing my extra shirt!  I completely forgot you had it until Lyns gave it to me, thanks!  My goal was to be under 2 hours and I did it! Which I am really happy about but I didn't feel strong at the end and so i'm slightly discouraged with the race.  And I NEVER could have done it without Merri, she met me at mile 5-ish and really helped me.  Thankfully she wasn't yelling at me to go faster and pushing my back forcing me along like a lady right behind us was doing to her friend.  That wouldn't work for me.  Anyway here's my splits

Miles 1-6: 7:54, 7:58, 8:15, 8:12, 8:29, 8:13- I loved all the down hill! Miles 1-3 I was having a wierd side pain on my right side. The only thing I can think is that I took aspirin right before and my stomach hated it.  I just had to talk myself through it and try to breathe through it, and luckily it went away.  Merri met me around Mile 5.  I felt good and my 10k time was 50:03! I wish this had been a 10k that's a PR. Took Gu at Mile 6 water stop and it made my stomach hurt a little I think I maybe drank a little to much water too.

Miles 7-9:  9:25, 9:10, 8:59  This is where I started to die mentally, just a little- you'll see I died majorly mentally later on :) This is where you come onto the trail and the sun was so hot and blazing right on us.  I'm glad I had Merri through here, she kept me going for real.

Miles 10-13.1: 10:07, 9:43, 10:32, 10:06- See I told you I really died at the end.  The sun was so hot and I wanted so bad to be done.  I really was ready to give up. Merri helped me with my timing and we knew if I could just do a 30 min 5k I would be under 2 hours.  These last 3 miles I had to concentrate on making it phone pole to phone pole.  I needed to pee but thought I could make it to the finish, and no worries I DID make it to the finish but I should have taken a potty break.  It might have helped. These last 3 miles were really hard and  I thought I would never finish.

I'm glad to be done and glad I did it under 2 hours! I can't help but wonder how much better it would be in 10 degrees cooler temperature at the end.  And how did I miss the Ice cold diet pepsi!!! oh well, the chocolate milk really hit the spot and then my hubby had breakfast waiting for me when I got home- I guess that makes up for him missing the race :).

Leandra! I'm so sorry, I didn't catch that it was you right away until after you'd said hi! I was talking to my son's school teacher and was distracted and still a little disoriented. I hope you had a great race! Was this your first half? A Sub 2:00! Way to go! Hope you can relax at Seven peaks!

From Kelli on Sat, Aug 22, 2009 at 16:42:39 from 71.219.64.200

Ahhh, Seven Peaks! I spent the entire day there yesterday. We had a blast.

Way to go Lani! You beat your old time by more than 9 minutes! Way to represent! (Not sure what you were representing, just trying to sound cool.)

From Oreo on Sat, Aug 22, 2009 at 19:31:25 from 70.103.222.137

Are the results up?

From Leandra on Sun, Aug 23, 2009 at 02:28:32 from 76.27.82.55

Josse- Thanks! I didn't think I was going to make it those last few miles but so glad I did :)

Luzy- That's so fine! Sorry I even interrupted you while you were talking. I just didn't think I would probably see you again through all the crowd. It was my first official half, besides RHPC.

Kelli- I'm so glad I got to see you after the race! You looked so cute and I forgot to tell you! I was a little disoriented and not sure I even held a competent conversation :).

Julie- So fun to meet you! Can't wait to read your race report.

Kellie! Thank you so much for keeping me company before the race! You're so cute and nice and I'm so proud of your time! I can't wait to read your entire report. AND thank you for packing my shirt around after the race! I completely forgot you had it until Lyns brought it by.

Teena- So fun to meet you! And don't worry tummy is feeling much better. It took a while and I really thought I was going to trow up, but it's gone and now I just can't walk :). Good job on the race! I can't wait to read your report.

Burt- thanks! I was representing all those Cats out there that are ticked they got nuetered.

Oreo- thanks, I'm just so glad to be done!

Lyns! I'm so glad we found eachother before the race. You did so good! You're so stinking fast and cute!

From Leandra on Sun, Aug 23, 2009 at 02:35:08 from 76.27.82.55

Oh and I posted a report if anyone wants to read it.

From RAD on Sun, Aug 23, 2009 at 02:46:47 from 76.27.12.70

I am so stinkin proud of you! Way to get it done and WAY under time. Those last few miles can be a beast, but you did it! You conquered it!!! Glad you're feeling good now and getting some rest...well, you are up a little late posting this :) Can't wait to see how things get better from here!!!

From Kelli on Sun, Aug 23, 2009 at 17:41:41 from 71.219.64.200

I am not so sure that you mentally died as I am that you struggled with the VERY oppressive heat! It was so hot, I felt for all of you runners! Considering the heat, I am so impressed with everyone's run. You met your goal and did awesome and now you are ready for another one!

Thanks for calling me cute!! It was nice to be all dressed and have my hair done for a change. Hope you had fun at Seven Peaks.

From Merri on Sun, Aug 23, 2009 at 19:19:26 from 67.199.179.247

good job lani! you did gggggrrrrreeeat!!! Next goal will be to run the whole way and not walk. :) Yeah I felt bad for the girl being pushed and yelled at :) wasn't sure if it was a mom/daughter combo or a friend combo either way looked like it sucked.

From Shimelle on Mon, Aug 24, 2009 at 12:05:44 from 75.162.241.212

YAY! You definitely go that goal to break 2 hours! It was great to chat with you before the race. You are too cute!
